History Conference

Since 2007, the Montgomery County History Conference has been engaging museum professionals, volunteers and the general public through dynamic and informative sessions on local history.  Workshops, lectures and discussion panels have covered such diverse topics as the Civil War, volunteer management, 20th century suburban development, artifact and archival collections “best practices,” African American schools, creating a living history persona, historic and prehistoric archaeology, women of Maryland, and the histories of the county’s many small towns, communities and institutions such as Sugarland, Garrett Park, and the Bethesda Women’s Farm Market.

Holiday Hours 

The Beall-Dawson Museum and The Stonestreet Museum will be closed Thursday, November 22 for Thanksgiving. The museums will reopen for normal hours on Friday, November 23.
 
The Jane C. Sween Library will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend: Wednesday, November 21 to Saturday, November 24.
It will reopen on Wednesday, November 28.
