You Are Making History Today!

Please Help Support the 2019 Spring Appeal

Imagine it is 2094—75 years from now—and you are visiting the Montgomery County History Museum. When you approach the exhibit on the early decades of the 21st century, what stories would you expect to see? In other words, what is happening right now in 2019 that is “making history” locally?

What else do we need to collect to help people in the future understand what is happening here today?

This year, we asked Councilmember Will Jawando (third from left) to donate the striking blue Agbada he wore during his inauguration in December. It reflects not only the amazing diversity of the county—where 1 in 3 of us was born outside of the US—but also the ascendance of immigrants and their children to positions of leadership.

Collecting, preserving, interpreting, and sharing the history of all of the residents of Montgomery County is what we do. But we cannot do it without your help!

Won’t you join with us, during our special 75th anniversary year, in supporting the ongoing preservation and care of story-rich objects such as Councilmember Jawando’s Agbada?

Our goal for this spring appeal is $5,000. Your gift of any size will make a difference! Thank you!
