Migrate with Us:
Through the Journeys of Those Living in Montgomery County
A Rockville High School Exhibit in Collaboration with Montgomery History
This multimedia, interactive exhibit was developed by students in McKim’s AP Language and Composition classes and tells the stories of how the students’ families came to Montgomery County. Illustrated with family photos and inspirational interviews, the exhibit offers a powerful window into the immigrant experience as well as a look at what draws people from every corner of the world and across the United States to make a home in Montgomery County.
For more information on the Migrate with Us exhibit, see our exhibit page.
For our first Coffee with the Curator event on May 8, 2018, Elizabeth Lay, curator, and leading textile historian, met with members to learn about Montgomery History’s 2,500-piece collection of textiles, one of the finest in the entire Washington, DC region.
After enjoying coffee and refreshments, Liz gave a close-up look at some of the most distinctive quilts and American coverlets in the collection.
Coffee with the Curator is a new benefit for all Rock Creek, Patuxent, and Potomac members of Montgomery History. Lilly Stone Circle and Life Members are also included. Stay tuned for more events in the upcoming year!
