SUMMARY:History Conversations REWIND | Stories of Hispanic Pioneers Building Community in Montgomery County en Espanol
DESCRIPTION:From 1960 to 1980\, the number of Spanish speakers in Montgomery County increased from 948 to 22\,790\, over a two-thousand percent increase. The Spanish-speaking residents from these decades\, who hailed from many different countries\, became the pioneers for one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the nation today and one with more than nineteen percent of its residents identifying as Hispanic or Latino. Through personal stories\, these pioneers will recount the beginnings of the County’s Hispanic community.
