“Five for Freedom” Author Book Talk

February 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Join author Eugene L. Meyer as we take a deeper look into the creation of his recent book, Five for Freedom: The African American Soldiers in John Brown’s ArmyFive For Freedom is not only about how these men came together at a fateful time and place, October 1859 in Harpers Ferry.  It is also about the world into which they were born and raised, their families, their lives and deaths, and their descendants down through the generations. In telling the story of these largely forgotten men, overshadowed for 160 years by their martyred commander, Meyer ensures they’ll remain hidden figures no more. Read more about the book here.
