with Hope Fato |

During World War II, women ordnance workers (often called WOWs) played a vital role in the war effort by working in munitions factories across the US. Hope Fato from the National Institute of Standards and Technology will speak on her story about local steelworker Bernice McPherson, the broader context of women ordnance workers, and the interesting backstory of the Rosie the Riveter character.
