With an introduction from former County Commissioner Ike Leggett presented by Bob Bachman This presentation will discuss some challenges Montgomery County faced in the 1980s and describe the progressive policies & programs that addressed them. These challenges include increased immigration, down-county school closings, up-county school overcrowding, threats to quality integrated education, hate crimes, loss of agricultural land, and the opening of the Metro Red Line to Shady Grove.
