History Conversations REWIND | The Murrow Boys – News Broadcasting During WWII
May 25 - May 31

with Brian Belanger | pre-recorded virtual event |
Prior to WWII, radio newscasts were infrequent and more likely featured commentary on current events rather than “hard-hitting” journalism. That all changed during the war. Brian Belanger, Curator at the National Capital Radio and Television Museum, will lead a talk discussing CBS’ Edward R. Murrow, wartime broadcaster, and how his reports brought the war viscerally into American living rooms and changed the history of radio broadcast news forever–complete with audio clips that will transport you back in time. Originally aired June 2020.
Recording available May 25 – 31
